Kevin Buehler joined as a board observer following McKinsey & Company’s 2020 investment in Praetorian.
Kevin is a senior partner in McKinsey & Company’s New York office. He cofounded McKinsey’s global Risk Practice and is the global leader of its risk advanced-analytics and cybersecurity efforts. He is the CEO of Risk Dynamics, a McKinsey company acquired in 2016, focused on model risk management and risk advanced analytics. In addition, he cochairs McKinsey’s launch committee, providing early stage funding for technology-enabled innovations across the firm.
Previously, he led McKinsey’s work in corporate and investment banking in the Americas and co-led it globally. For more than two decades, Kevin has helped senior executives at leading financial institutions solve their most challenging strategic, risk, regulatory, and analytical problems. Prior to McKinsey, he served as COO of an emerging markets private equity firm, practiced corporate law as an attorney at one of the premier US law firms, and was cofounder and CFO of a targeted recruiting services firm.
Kevin is a respected thought leader in the industry and his perspectives have been cited in leading publications such as American Banker, Wall Street Journal, and Harvard Business Review.
Kevin holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School, graduating Magna Cum Laude. He received his A.B. from Harvard University, Summa Cum Laude, with a focus on Economics
